The Kitsu Emerge
When the world was still young and new, the inhabitants of the realm lived in peace and harmony. The guardian spirits looked upon this and felt their creations complete and whole. Without another glance they departed, believing it safe from harm. But the Holy Nine Tailed spirit was doubtful. She understood the weaknesses of man and knew one day that the world would fall into chaos. Determined to do everything in her power to prevent this, she sacrificed the last of her powers and created spirits that would coexist with the elements of the world.

As her consciousness began to fade, the Kitsu came forth. Small fox-like creatures, they entered the world in quiet and began their vigil. They were silent creatures, ever present yet never seen.

Time passed, and though the Kitsu were long-lived, many began to notice their powers beginning to fade and their place in the world starting to crumble.

Rise of the Golden Dharma King
A man once wise and good, the Golden Dharma King became corrupted in his search for new knowledge. Upon the discovery of an ancient evil power, he coveted it for himself and became consumed by his own greed. Soon the darkness swept over him and his kingdom descended into the chaos the Nine Tailed guardian spirit had feared. The Kitsu could feel the rising tide of evil, draining their power. Thus they knew their time in the shadows was over. Manifesting physical forms, they came before the only two leaders who had yet to fall under the power of the Golden Dharma King.

Enemies for all of recorded history, the Order of the Iron Claw and the Flamewind Society agreed upon an uneasy truce and worked together to defeat a force more horrible than they had ever imagined. With their combined powers, and with the aid of the Kitsu, the two factions forged their strength and marched upon the citadel of the Golden Dharma King. Though he was strong and had taught his legions a Forbidden Discipline, the Order and Society overcame his forces and marched into the citadel. Struck down under the weapons of eight warriors, the Golden Dharma King hissed and dissolved into an oily green mist.

The Evil Remains
Not even the warriors that dealt the final blows to the Golden Dharma King could say whether or not he perished that day. Despite his disappearance, the price paid for peace was too great and the damage already done. The taint of the Golden Dharma King was much deeper than anticipated. Though he himself was gone, the followers of the Golden Dharma King remain and still plague the land. Ever vigilant, The Order of the Iron Claw and the Flamewind Society continue in their uneasy truce. The Kitsu also remain in the world, quietly trying to maintain the balance of power between the two nations, encouraging adventurers to root out and defeat the remnants of the Golden Dharma King.
